Organization and management
The Artists Union of Georgia, a non-governmental organization, was founded in 1932.

Strategies / Priorities
The main goal is to keep and protect the national traditions, the promotion of fine arts and art criticism, the popularization of Georgian Art in Georgia and abroad, the encouragement of folk artists, and keeping copyrights.
The union has regional departments (Ajara, Abkhazia, Kutaisi, Telavi, Poti, Zugdidi), creative sections (painting, drawing, applied art, sculpture, monumental art, art critique, cinema and theatrical and decorative). The union is initiator of scientific-creative conferences, symposiums, planners, republic and international exhibitions. It participates in republic and international competitions, has publishing activities and awards.
